It's not very good as a film, but there's no denying its stunning animation, particularly in the service of its two daffiest new characters Will (voice of Brad Pitt) and Bill the Krill (voice of Matt Damon), and its sheer lunacy can be invigorating. Its global warming theme leads to some dark places which may be scary for the very young and it tries to do many things. The film surges and sputters, driven by hip hop and opera, but crashing to a dead halt with a sappy ballad ('Bridge of Light'). Some of the activities in this app are also very repetitive, but then again, kids don’t seem to mind the repetitive nature of these apps. The only negative, and this is the case with all storybook apps, is that once you go through it a few times, you’re pretty much never really going to go through it again unless your kids are a huge fan of it. It’s also fairly long when compared to other storybooks. This is one of the better storybook apps as it features narration, animations, and interactivity. Happy Feet Two: Erik’s Adventure is a good storybook app for children who are fans of the Happy Feet movies. This is the case with most Budge Studios games where the emphasis is progression and simplicity. The games themselves are fun for children, if not a bit easy, however this just means that your kids won’t get discouraged while going through it and giving up. The games are fairly easy to play and mostly revolve around either tapping on the screen or to dragging your finger across it. Each scene in the story is fully animated and each has something to do, whether it be tapping on characters to take their picture or playing interactive games to progress the story. It’s more of an interactive, short movie that is narrated to you. Unlike other storybook apps though, there aren’t really any pages. Like any good storybook app, Happy Feet Two: Erik’s Adventure includes narrated text, interactive games, and visually appealing artwork.īecause this is a storybook app, there are obviously moments when all you will do is watch what is going on onscreen. ![]() Along the way, you’ll have to save your fellow penguins from a threat that could possibly wipe out the entire colony.
